Cookie policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Thanks for visiting Keepy! This Cookie Policy explains how Human Interaction, Inc. (“Keepy”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies across our websites and our app at mykeepy.com and keepy.co, including all of their subdomains, and any other domain connected to Keepy (the “Services”). In this policy, “our website” means mykeepy.com, and “the app” means the signed-in Keepy app. This policy is part of our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device.
- First-party cookies are set by us. Third-party cookies are set by other companies, such as analytics or advertising partners.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.
We also use similar technologies, such as browser local storage, pixels, tags, scripts and software development kits. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.
2. Where we use which cookies
- Our website uses strictly necessary cookies and, subject to your choices, analytics and marketing cookies.
- The app, once you are signed in, uses strictly necessary cookies and, subject to your choices, analytics cookies only — never marketing or advertising cookies.
- Pages that open when a Keepy QR code is scanned, the sign-in page, and anything Medical ID use only strictly necessary cookies and storage. No analytics or advertising tag ever runs there.
We load our analytics and marketing tags through Google Tag Manager, a Google tool that loads the other tags. It is loaded only after you allow at least one optional category, and only where those tags may run. Your cookie choice is one choice for all of Keepy: a choice made on the website also applies in the app, and the other way round.
Our website also loads its fonts from Google Fonts. This sets no cookies, but Google receives your IP address when the fonts load.
3. The cookies we use
| Category | What it does | Providers | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in, keeps the Services secure, protects website chat and forms from bots, remembers your cookie choices, keeps small preferences (such as a dismissed tip or a draft in progress), and keeps the Services working. These cannot be switched off, because the Services do not work without them. | Keepy; Cloudflare (security and bot checks, such as Turnstile); Stripe (fraud prevention at checkout) | Sign-in token: up to 1 year. Consent choice (keepy_consent): up to 13 months. Preferences in browser storage: until you clear them. Cloudflare and Stripe: from the session up to 1 year, according to their policies. |
| Analytics | Measures how visitors use our website and the signed-in app: which pages and screens they visit (the app reports the kind of screen, such as “an agent’s chat”, never your agents’ names, your messages or any Medical ID information), where they come from, and steps such as signing up or starting a checkout, so that we can improve Keepy. It may collect device information and an approximate location derived from the IP address. Google Signals is off, and Google Analytics keeps this data for 14 months. | Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager | _ga and _ga_<id>: up to 2 years |
| Marketing | On the website only, never in the app: measures how our ads perform, attributes sign-ups and purchases to campaigns, builds audiences, and shows you more relevant Keepy ads on other sites and apps. Partners may combine this with other information they hold about you, under their own policies. | Google Ads, when we turn it on; and similar partners we may add through Google Tag Manager, listed here when we do | Google Ads (_gcl_*, set on the website only): up to 90 days. Partners we add: as stated here when we add them. |
Our partners’ privacy policies:
Some of these providers process data outside your country. The safeguards we use are described in our Privacy Policy.
Purchases reported by our server. When you start a free trial, pay for Keepy Plus or Premium QR Tags, or receive a refund, our server tells Google Analytics directly (not through your browser), using the same analytics identifier as your browser and only if your cookie choice allowed analytics. In place of your name, email or Keepy account number, it uses a random-looking code we derive from your account. It never reports anything about Medical ID.
4. Your choices
EEA, UK, Switzerland, and wherever consent is required. Analytics and Marketing cookies stay off until you choose “Accept all” (in the app, “Accept”, which turns on Analytics only) or switch them on in “Customize”. “Reject all” is always available, and rejecting does not stop you from using the website or the app. We use Google Consent Mode, and Google Tag Manager does not load at all until you consent, so no Google tag sets analytics or advertising cookies before then.
United States and other countries. Analytics and Marketing cookies may be on by default. You can turn them off at any time with “Your Privacy Choices”, the link with the toggle icon in the website’s footer. It opens the cookie settings.
Changing your mind. Open “Your Privacy Choices” in the website’s footer, or “Cookie settings” in the app’s menu under Legal, at any time. When you switch a category off, we stop loading its tags and delete the first-party cookies it set. Some third-party cookies can only be removed through your browser or the third party.
How long your choice lasts. We store your choice in the keepy_consent cookie. If you accepted, we ask again after about 6 months. If you declined, we keep that choice for up to 13 months. We also ask again if we materially change how we use cookies or add new types of partners.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a choice to turn Marketing cookies off (and, where consent is required, as a refusal), and we don’t ask you again on that browser.
Browser settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, and limit ad tracking in your device settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may sign you out or stop parts of the Services from working. Industry opt-out tools such as aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu are also available.
5. If you live in the United States
Under some U.S. state privacy laws, letting advertising partners collect information through Marketing cookies may be a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, or “targeted advertising”. You can opt out as described above. We honor an opt-out for at least 12 months before asking again. Your other rights are described in Section 12 of our Privacy Policy.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when we add or remove a partner. The “Last updated” date shows when it last changed. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent again.
